Artist Statement

My work has always been a combination of nature, memory of place and abstraction. The paintings are from my imagination with inspiration from the real world, but not anchored by any realistic perspective. In my landscapes, unusual celestial and planetary events often appear. I am inspired by the dynamic, emotional landscapes of Marsden Hartley, Charles Burchfield and Edvard Munch among others.
