Artist Statement

I’m a ceramic artist with a multidisciplinary background, based in New York. My studies in biology, philosophy, and filmmaking continue to shape the way I create. I integrate these influences into my ceramics, creating pieces that carry a sense of movement and temporality. I’m especially interested in the connection between earth, human nature, and history, and I’m drawn to the raw, primordial quality of ceramics—which leads me to embrace irregularities and organic patterns. I love creating large vases that explore form and presence. My pieces are often functional, but they usually don’t follow the rules. I’m curious about the space between what we expect and what we actually experience—how that tension can open up new ways of seeing and feeling.
