Artist Statement

show: BUTCHER tuckerludlow, aka scott miller, is a Brooklyn-based maker whose artistic practice spans painting, sculpture, photography, and moving image. This season brings a focus on gouache and ink. In January tucker was gifted a roll of butcher paper. Working off the roll freed them to explore and work quickly without reservation. In their work, tucker delves deeper into the split between mind and body, the repursuit of wholeness, and the quest for belonging. They seek to capture the friction of being both witness and participant, inviting viewers to reflect on the delicate balance between consciousness and uncertainty.
