Artist Statement

McGrath’s work is comprised of an ever-expanding roster of shaky symbolism, in-jokes, riffs, strokes, and an unreliable personal mythology which has lately been encroached upon by the likenesses of people he loves. Though he recently painted someone’s dogs, he’s not sure if he’ll do it again.
