Artist Statement

I started making work in an effort to bridge the gap between me buying weird ceramics and me making weird ceramics. Over the years it's grown from mugs to vases to candelabras and menorahs to more experimental wall pieces, each iteration incorporating lessons from the previous ones. Playing with color, texture, and shape, I aim to push the ideas of what functional ceramics look like while still making things that people can use. I'm inspired by the work of Ron Nagle, Betty Woodman, and handmade things I find in thrift shops.v
