Artist Statement
My work as a photographer, video artist, and abstract painter explores the intersection of nature and human perception. I use organic color palettes, themes of femininity, and the natural world as prominent motifs throughout my body of work. My fascination with the complexities and subtleties of the natural world drives me to experiment with a variety of mediums, textures, techniques and objects. My recent work includes a series of photos that I print and add abstract layers of paint to. For me, the creative process is a meditative experience that allows me to communicate something that my words can't. My art is meant to engage viewers on a visceral level, encouraging them to question their own perceptions and connect with the beauty and complexity of the world around them. My goal as an artist is to inspire others to see the world in new and unique ways while challenging their assumptions and preconceptions.
