Artist Statement
My practice of observing and abstractly reconstructing spaces began while living in Budapest. Long train rides and walks through an unfamiliar city made me pay closer attention to small, often overlooked details. I became drawn to the subtle structures around me—screws holding train windows in place, patterns in vents, flowers blooming in spring, river rocks, and birds in flight—documenting and drawing them repeatedly. Across drawings, embroideries, lithographs, and paintings, my work records these quiet observations, focusing on moments that are easy to overlook and assembling them into a visual archive of familiar spaces. I hope to offer an opportunity to slow down. Paying attention to what’s around us can shift the way we relate to space, and even to each other. I’m interested in how the tiny details, if we really look at them, can tell us something about the structures we live in—and how they might change if we forget to look.
