Artist Statement
I create figurative drawing that explores the push and pull between growth and decay within contemporary human existence. It strives to simultaneously depict both the physical and metaphorical aspects within the same space of the image. My visual aesthetic is comprised of intricate graphite lines within simple passages of oil paint on large scale paper. The work operates within the traditions of using drawing as a tool to define ourselves in relation to present time and place.
