Mark Albright aka Self-Indulgence has been painting for over 30 years. He dropped out of the BFA program at SUNY New Paltz in 1992. A year later he moved to Brooklyn with his future wife, Shelly. After amputating his left index finger and half his left thumb on a table saw in 2001, Mark concentrated on the construction of his home in South Williamsburg. In 2008, Mark started to paint again after renovations to his studio had been completed. It wasn’t long after that, he became friends with similar minded and talented artists that would evolve into the art collective. Now a decade old. Mark continues to paint in expressive, colorful works, that range from a pop culture, street art sensibility, to his more cerebral abstractions.
