Artist Statement

My work includes abstract expressionist oil paintings, minimalist acrylics on paper, digital illustrations, and photography, exploring the not only formal considerations of mark making but also the political, psychological and philosophical considerations of living in our world. One prominent focus in my work is the exploration of surreal dream elements. I delve into themes of memory, meaning, and power particularly within the elusive realm of dreams, where memories often and quickly fade. While my formal approach is diverse, I consistently focus on the evasive and seemingly unknowable aspects of human experience that are challenging to identify, let alone articulate and define.
