Artist Statement
Since first taking up acrylic painting during the pandemic, Laura Forshay has used still life to examine how light, opacity, and perspective impact the consumption of two-dimensional art. Recent compositions also play with the juxtaposition of organic matter and modern technology, exploring the idea of painting as an act of preservation.
