Artist Statement

My artwork is centered around the continued exploration of identity across time. Inspired by traditional artists and photographers who transform reality such as Salvador Dali and Claude Cahun from the surrealist movement, my work seeks to illustrate what lies beneath. Bold colors and celestial bodies are primary motifs throughout. However, recently my perspective has shifted towards floral and natural elements. Many of my paintings are self portraits that capture different versions of myself; but my sketches and drawings often reflect loved ones and my appreciation for beauty. Through my art, I continue to dissect and learn to embrace all iterations of self and encourage others to do the same.
