Artist Statement
I am a classically-trained sculptor working primarily in clay, plaster and stone. I am an ornamental sculptor and plaster-worker by day, therefore, my personal work is heavily inspired by this tradition. Flowers, plant-life, and small mammals can often be found in my work. I’m drawn to their delicate nature and enjoy the opportunity to give them a platform to be viewed closely and admired. My chosen subjects are often tranquil and unassuming, similar to the nature of my casting material, plaster. In my work, methodical process, subject matter and material come together to create a moment of peace and mediation.
