Artist Statement
Josh Werner is a New York based musician composer and painter. He has worked with a diverse range of artists including Lee Scratch Perry, James Brandon Lewis, Bill Laswell, and Tunde Adebimpe. His mixed media paintings are an extension of his improvisational prowess and genre fusing musical experiences. The work includes abstract landscapes, performative ink line drawings, gestural profiles awash in color, with punk and graffiti influences.
