Artist Statement

John P. Dessereau is an artist and illustrator who defies categories. With a wide-ranging artistic style and a passion for visual storytelling, his work consistently aims to be both beautiful and impactful. Whether working in traditional or digital media, John approaches each piece with a growth mindset—allowing every new creation to build meaningfully on the last. His dedication has led to collaborations with leading publications, brands, and organizations across a variety of industries. A graduate of the School of Visual Arts (BFA) and the Fashion Institute of Technology (MFA) in Illustration, John has also contributed to the academic art community as a guest lecturer, juror, and critic at top art institutions in New York City.
