Artist Statement
The paintings of Joe Piscopia are expressing extremes of feelings and what may be considered ex-dreams of emotions. He explores these personal feelings which are then shaped into abstract forms and thus are brought to an illuminated surface. He has a growing discipline as an artist living and working in Brooklyn, New York. Much can be made from a practice of drawing, and this is a fundamental aspect forming an underlying basis for many of his paintings. Many images developed from unconsciously drawing and sketching in his daily practice which are his catalysts becoming then documentations of his art.
