As a ceramicist, my work reflects my search for our constant connection to nature especially within our inorganic structures and life in the city. Humanity has often associated itself as “other” and separate from the wildness of nature and this can be even more convincing when surrounded by manmade structures of steel and glass. However, even within our human focused designs, we find joy and the need to include the natural world in our daily life. Using the tactile and circular nature of clay, my work captures a spark of nature and encourages the exploration of one’s relationship with it.
