Artist Statement

My work deals with image authorship/ reproduction and what it means to make contemporary paintings with religious undertones. My source material is art historical, borrowing imagery and ideologies from the Still Life genre (specifically Cotán and Zurbarán) and Christian imagery and symbolism from the early Renaissance (Fra Angelico and other painters of the Quattrocento) to create new paintings.
