Artist Statement
Drawing from cartoon imagery of women and using myself as a reference, I create paintings of women that are meant to be both humorous and disturbing. Beginning with photographs of myself and my dog, I create numerous drawings before painting allowing the original image to shift and morph into something more stylized and abstracted.
