Artist Statement

I draw imaginary maps and spaces using “rules” informed by geographic experience as well as the unexpected connections between maps and biological systems. I work in various media: predominantly pen and watercolor drawings, but also mixed media collage and increasingly amorphous site-specific fiber art installations. I'm unceasingly inspired by the aesthetic similarity between maps and other networks in the world such as neurons and tree branches, and my work is the evolving result of that ongoing research.
