Artist Statement
As a Canadian artist working with ceramics, my work is deeply influenced by my connection to nature, as well as my Mexican-Peruvian roots. I began studying ceramics at the Ottawa School of Art in 2019, and since then, I have developed a strong passion for creating pieces that reflect my love for mother nature. I am particularly drawn to the intricate patterns found in Andean textiles from Peru and in Talavera pottery from Mexico. I incorporate these motifs into my ceramic work, creating pieces that are both functional and decorative. Through my art, I hope to inspire others to appreciate the beauty and complexity of the natural world and to see the connections between us and our environment.
