Artist Statement

Dana Otto is a large-scale painter working at the intersection of geometric abstraction, chromatic pattern, and somatic experience. Her paintings distill a lifelong study of experiential design, object-making, and spiritual practice, all in service of one question: how the built environment and ritual directly impact human experience, mood and nervous system. Pattern, color, and scale are chosen for their regulatory effects: on the body, on a room.
