Artist Statement

I'm Courtney! I’m a watercolor artist based in the hustle and bustle of New York City—where I’ve lived in all five boroughs (yes, even Staten Island!). My art is all about capturing the places and things I adore in this wild city that never sleeps. Art has been my thing for as long as I can remember. With an art degree in one hand and an education degree in the other, I spend my days as an elementary school art teacher, making sure kids get to experiment with as many art mediums as possible. Because let’s be honest: every child deserves a chance to make a glorious mess! When I picked up watercolor paints, it was love at first splash. There’s something magical about the way watercolors dance on the page, and I can’t get enough of it. My illustrations are my way of sharing the vibrant energy of NYC with you—one brushstroke at a time.
