Artist Statement
My work captures the essence of everyday life, drawing inspiration from the familiar scenes of Greenpoint and the adventures shared with my wife and friends. I find profound joy in the details and small moments that make life extraordinary, a philosophy that drives my practice in contemporary realism. Influenced by the likes of David Hockney, Winslow Homer, Edward Hopper, and Alex Katz, I strive to create paintings that tell a story, evoke feelings, and convey meaningful messages and/or sense of place. I believe that art doesn't need to be exotic or provocative to be impactful; it can be rooted in the ordinary and still resonate deeply, reflecting the beauty found in our daily experiences.
