Artist Statement

All of it, a circle. My work is Queerness incarnate. Queerness infinite. Time is cyclical. Life is cyclical. A circle. A shape without beginning, without end, a space sustaining. Worlds and Spells are not so different. For me, Queerness assembles realities, identities, worlds; it is the innate understanding of situation in the universe, in nature. Queerness is eternal, existing outside frameworks of oppressive structures. A state of being in flux and inclusive. Queerness is Magick. Working automatically, thoughts erupt from depths, subconscious, bits and pieces of trauma and joy, ebbing and flowing together like the topography of our planet. Impossible to decipher where one thought, one line, one being starts and another ends. Shapes from drawings bleed into sculptures, forming skeletons for Queer beings. I do not claim a discipline, and instead adopt an anti-discipline approach – there is only cycles and circles; the necessity to breathe our truths into this world, to imbue it with Queer Power and Defiance. Witch Ancestors have long used circles in their work. Circles contain power, they contain knowledge. Techno-Witches have continued these traditions – hard drives store data on a circle of silver, central processing units push current through circuits like blood pumping through a body. Through a combination of drawings, rituals, and experimental technologies, I seek to inhabit and invite into a place where the Eldritch is alive – A space where change is possible.

Bones, language, rusted metal bits, tech and detritus are scavenged and transformed through alchemical processes – creating a Queering, a shift in the way these objects exist in reality. Installations channel Sound, Frequencies become a pathway to facilitate transformation in the cells of our bodies our brains. Transmitting experiences of Queerness and creating a narrative that is not based on othering but on sharing. All of it, a circle.
