Artist Statement

Cecilia Trollby of CEE Ceramics is a Swedish artist, who started working with clay in 2010. Influenced by a love of the sea, desert & ancient crafts and cultures – my work is always evolving into new shapes, surfaces and textures. Working mostly with Black clay and Porcelain, thrown on the wheel; pieces are often altered by hand, sometimes by distorting the clay or coiling and adding to create a more dynamic shape or edge. The muted and simple palette is a reflection of my Scandinavian heritage. My work is fuelled the magical alchemy of glazes & the endless possibilities of clay – and the pure joy of making.
