Artist Statement
Carlos Vela-Prado (b. 1984, Guatemala City, Guatemala) is a New York-based artist. He received his BA from SUNY Albany and later MFA from Yale School of Art in Sculpture. He has been awarded the Atelier Mondial Fellowship, 2016. Assets for Artist Grant, 2014 and LMCC Swing Space, 2013. Recent exhibitions include I Don't Believe in Art I Believe in Artists, LX Arts, NYC, Time Bomb at the Watermill Center, The Camera’s Blind Spot III at Palazzo De’ Toschi in Bologna, and Salon Mondial in Basel Switzerland
