Artist Statement

The ideas for my paintings seem to come from another place that is outside of my consciousness. Wherever that is, I like going there when I paint. It's a playful realm with bright colors and optimistic figures, but it's also a world shadowed by darkness and dangerous characters. There are spectators and performers, there is abstraction and unknown things happening in my paintings. I try not to think about it much and just follow along until it all makes sense.
