Artist Statement

April Hannah leads a Brooklyn-based multidisciplinary studio that transforms ideas, materials and experiences through art, design and coaching. Looking to science, nature and human behavior, Hannah sees the world as a puzzle to be solved – deconstructing complex systems down to a singular source and a simple process. Through abstract paintings and sculptures, Hannah creates structures of form generation, mimicking the innate intelligence propelling a system towards infinity. The resulting objects activate the space, and the people who inhabit it, with curiosity and wonder.
