Artist Statement

Kana Handel is a Tokyo-born artist whose diverse use of media shapes her expressive work. Kana’s art combines traditional and unconventional materials—such as oil, acrylic, sumi ink, watercolor, natural dried pigments, handmade paper, gold and silver leaf, persimmon juice, crushed oyster shells, and LED lights—to create textured, layered pieces. Her work delves into the realm of intangible emotions and memories, transforming fleeting feelings into visual stories that invite viewers to connect on a deeply personal level.
