Artist Statement

Show: Greenpoint Open Studios- Café Grumpy Bio: Sheryl Scott, a Jamaican born Visual Artist, has always loved to create as a child. Since art was never considered a viable career choice in her home it was not pursued. About eighteen years ago, Ms. Scott drew a picture for her nephew’s room and that re-kindled her creative spirit and set her on her artistic journey. Ms. Scott uses a lot of color and movement that can be attributed to her Caribbean background. She considers her abstract pieces to be meditational.
