Artist Statement

Marissa Pierce is a ceramic artist based in Brooklyn, New York. Pierce graduated from Savannah College of Art and Design (b.f.a., 2012), studying advertising and film. Her work includes unconventional tableware, modern lighting and sculpture. She is currently working on a series interpreting the generational influence of the spectacle. Using the natural clay body she intends to explore the juxtaposition of the subject and material through playful realism.
