Artist Statement

YOK & SHERYO, an interdisciplinary artist duo born in Boorloo, Western Australia (YOK) and Singapore (SHERYO), create vibrant paintings, sculptures, large-scale public murals, and immersive experiential installations. Their collaborative practice delves into themes of animism, contemporary folklore and mythologies, and cultural syncretism. Through intercultural dialogues and investigations, YOK & SHERYO explore the ever-shifting nature of society. Their dynamic artwork is deeply intertwined with their nomadic lifestyle and adventurous spirit.
