Artist Statement

Elias Griffin is an artist and woodworker born and raised in New York City. Drawing from a love of craft and history, he makes work that is occasionally functional and often functionless and is happiest when he is experimenting with new materials and techniques. Most recently, he has been experimenting with traditional wood lacquering techniques, as a way of bringing color to his woodworking practice in a more dynamic way.
