Artist Statement

Madison Bolatto (b. 1995 Minneapolis, MN) is a self-taught painter living and working in Brooklyn, New York. Inspired by her mother’s death in 2021, Madison’s work explores life after enduring the death of the maternal connection – the proverbial veil being lifted, revealing a landscape of absurdity, spirituality, sexuality, and contradiction.
