Artist Statement
Sara Shaoul’s work explores the infrastructures of human experience, from relationships to socioeconomic systems, looking closely at the intersection of labor, social history and gender. She is particularly interested in how ideology is learned through intimate connections, and how micro experiences reflect macro social structures. She works conceptually in many mediums, with content dictating form.
