Artist Statement
Trying to paint at the speed of thought I draw from my experiences and memories of moving, living, and working between multiple cities to catch the gaps, glitches, and lapses in the continuity of daily life. In my paintings I expand the space – the underbelly of reality – where the mundane suddenly appears epic, the familiar inexplicably alien, and the solid continuously slips through your fingers. Drinking coffee is a portal into the cosmos; waxing your legs is a science experiment, getting a passport photo taken is an existential crisis, and for some reason all the rear-view mirrors in the world just wont stop looking at you!
