Artist Statement

Silvia Cincotta is a multidisciplinary artist well known for her talents in the beauty industry focused in hair but her lesser known work include photography, sculpture, and interior design. Her collaborations with many well known fine artists such as Petra Collins, Ryan McGinley, John Currin and Rachel Feinstein have brought notoriety but most important to her is the relationships she forms with her clients and collaborators. Currently based on Green street she has designed a beautiful studio and is taking clients for hair transformations, making art and working on the epic sidewalk garden. She’s known for her easy down to earth approach and heart. She is collaborating and inviting Maria Rapicavoli to share her space for Greenpoint open studios where she will show porcelain handglazed word sculptures. The salon studio embodies the original meaning of the word being a gathering place for creatives and happenings. Excited to invite the outside world in for a peek.
