Artist Statement

Lizzie is a Brooklyn-based abstract artist whose work is inspired by the natural world. Drawing on the forms and rhythms of biology, geology, topography, and more, she transforms these influences into intuitive, emotionally driven paintings. Her compositions explore the interplay of organic and geometric forms—a reflection of the landscapes around her. Her practice is slow and process-driven. Layer by layer, she builds texture, marks, and materials, attentive to how mediums interact and what they “say” to each other. Each painting becomes an open-ended dialogue, balancing structure and fluidity, intention and accident. The resulting works feel layered, shifting, and never fully fixed—inviting viewers to discover something new with each encounter.
