Artist Statement

I make oil paintings that depict nudity and violence through composed, often fragmented scenes. Drawing from personal experiences and observed moments, I collage disparate images to construct new narratives that feel both intimate and staged. My work focuses on power as it plays out in relationships—between bodies, within social settings, and across broader cultural structures. I use color and composition to heighten these dynamics, balancing restraint with moments of tension. The imagery comes from experiences that stay with me for their visual intensity or emotional charge, which I rework into paintings that hold both attraction and discomfort.
