Artist Statement

I am interested in transforming commonplace utilitarian materials into sculptures that absorb and emit light. Currently, I’m working with. metal window screens as well as  deconstructed wire mesh to alter the frame of reference of these materials while retaining their original properties as both barriers and openings. I am also working on pieces using wire furniture springs.
 My inspiration comes from drawing and my goal is to create sculptures that are as straightforward as lines on paper.
