Artist Statement

I create installations that blend fragments of memory, myth and ritual allowing fiction and lived experience to co-exist. My practice often begins with personal anecdotes and family history that bleed into larger mythologies shaped by superstition and collective memory. I frequently build on projects overtime, weaving together earlier works into distinct installations to accumulate new meaning. Fire reoccurs throughout my practice as an alluring symbol of destruction and renewal, collapsing genuine events, family history and imagined scenarios into hybrid representations.
